DECISION PASSPORT
Read a real Decision Passport.
This Passport comes from a room Argumont ran on a question security teams ask often: a financial organization choosing a static code scanner, Checkmarx or Snyk, or something better. The PDF is the file the Download PDF button produces for that decision; the only change is that the test account's name is left out.
What is inside
A title page with the recommendation, how far to trust it, and where it stands.
A one-page executive summary: the recommended option, the key figures, what must happen before acting, the principal risks with the action proposed for each, and what would change the recommendation.
Then the full record: the question and the options, the Verdict and the strongest objection that survived, the conditions that could change it, every risk with its action, the human decision, and the evidence, with each finding tied to its source.
How to read it
Start with the executive summary. It is written for the person who has to sign.
Confidence describes the strength of the recorded analysis: how well the evidence holds up, how many load-bearing claims remain open, and how sensitive the Verdict is.
Follow a number back to the evidence record when it matters. A figure the record does not hold is not stated as fact.
Why a sample
A decision record is easier to judge than a description of one. Reviewers, buyers, and security teams can see the structure, the tone, and the honesty about what is not known before running a room of their own.
Workspace decisions stay private. This sample is published because it is ours.
What this sample does not show
The human decision is pending, because this was a test room and no one in an organization recorded a decision. In your workspace, the person accountable records the decision, any approval, and the risks they accept.
There is no outcome yet. An outcome is recorded later, beside the original Verdict, without rewriting it.
See the whole record.
Eighteen pages: a one-page summary, the full record, and every source.
