FINANCE
Make the finance Decision name the capital it is spending.
Organizational finance Decisions are about budget, capital, and who may commit spend. They are not a thesis about a security. Argumont can structure the contest.
Decision support only. Not financial, tax, or investment advice. Argumont is not a broker, adviser, accountant, or rating agency.
Typical Decisions
Fund this initiative or reserve the capital, cut this cost center or keep it, approve the exception spend, or wait for the next planning cycle.
The Decision Owner is often a CFO, controller, or budget owner. Contributors include the operator asking for the money. Approvers may include finance, the executive sponsor, and audit when the spend is material.
What the record has to hold
The amount, the alternative use of the same capital, the load-bearing forecast, and who can sign. A slide that restates the request is not evidence of return.
Champion defends the preferred spend. Challenger attacks the forecast that is doing the work. Grandfather judges capital and optionality. Inspector marks a model that has never been reconciled to last year’s actuals.
How this differs from Investment Analysis
Investment Analysis is a thesis about putting capital into an external position. This page is internal: budget, allocation, and controller authority. The Human Decision is a spend authorization, not a trade.
Decision support only
Decision support only. Not financial advice.
A forecast is not a fact. The Judge can refuse false precision when the alternative use of the same capital was never scored.
Champion and Challenger test the case, Inspector checks the evidence, and Judge records the Verdict for the Decision Owner.
Example finance Decision
Fund the plant upgrade, reserve the capital for the vendor renewal, or wait one quarter. Last year’s actuals beat a model that has never been reconciled. If the Verdict favors fund and the controller still reserves, both the Verdict and the override stay on the record.
Bring Argumont a Decision worth challenging.
Structure the question, test the evidence and the assumptions, and preserve what your organization ultimately decides.
