Someone has to own the Human Decision.

A Decision Owner is accountable for recording what the organization chose. Contributors can add evidence. Reviewers can dissent. Approvers can authorize. None of those seats silently become the owner.

Owner is a responsibility, not a chat role

The Decision Owner names the question, keeps the options honest, and records the Human Decision after the AI Verdict. Workspace membership does not grant that authority.

If three people can speak in the Decision Room and nobody can sign, you have a conversation, not a governed Decision.

How the owner uses the analytical record

Champion, Challenger, Scout, Inspector, and Judge produce an inspectable Verdict. The owner may Adopt Verdict, Adopt with Conditions, Choose Another Course, Defer, or Reopen Analysis.

If the Human Decision differs from the AI Verdict, the owner records the reason, the residual risks, and the version they overrode. The Verdict itself is not rewritten.

Where approval still sits beside ownership

Formal approval is bound to a specific Decision version. An old approval does not silently follow a material change. Risk disposition stays separate: owning the Decision is not automatically accepting leftover exposure.

A later reviewer should see who owned the call, who dissented, and who approved.

What the record keeps

The product will not let a workspace admin spend credits or record the Human Decision merely because they can open the record.

Champion and Challenger test the case, Inspector checks the evidence, and Judge records the Verdict for the Decision Owner.

Example ownership split

Procurement contributes the commercial evidence. Security reviews residual exposure. The CIO is the Decision Owner and records Choose Another Course after a Verdict favors switch. The override reason and the original Verdict both remain inspectable.
