question

Should we enter, wait, or enter by a different door?

Entering a market is rarely a single yes. It is a choice among direct sales, partnership, a localized product, or waiting until a constraint is gone. Scoring only the first plan hides the others.

What people skip

Demand evidence from people who can buy in that market, cost to serve including language and support, and competitive response from local substitutes. A TAM slide is not demand.

Teams also skip the option to refuse. Waiting is an option. It should be scored, not treated as cowardice.

How Argumont treats it

The preferred entry plan is a contestant. A materially different path, such as a reseller versus a direct team, should appear if one exists. Reversal conditions belong in the verdict.

Example criteria

Reachable demand

Buyers you can actually sell to, not a census of the category.

Cost to serve

Support, localization, compliance, and travel.

Time to first revenue

Including the real sales cycle, not the optimistic one.

Strategic distraction

What the home market loses while you enter.

Example

Direct sales in Germany this year, a reseller, or wait until usage-based packaging exists. Compare those three, not a slogan about Europe.
