question

Stay, dual-source, or switch?

A supplier change is not only a unit price. It is qualification time, quality variance, and what happens if the new source fails in month two.

What to score

Landed cost, quality evidence, lead time, concentration, and the cost of qualifying a second source. A cheaper quote that arrives late is not cheaper.

Staying is an option. Dual-source is often the serious alternative people skip because it is operationally annoying.

How Argumont treats it

Current supplier, challenger supplier, and dual-source can compete on explicit criteria. Residual operational risk should be visible in confidence.
