Memory is the Decision the next team can reopen.

Institutional Decision memory is what an organization keeps so a later team can answer why we chose, what we believed, which alternative lost, and what actually happened.

What has to survive the original team

The question, the options, the load-bearing claims, the evidence status, the AI Verdict, the Human Decision, the override if any, approvals, and the later Outcome.

A chat that nobody can reopen after the owner leaves is not memory. A slide that only shows the winner is not memory.

How Outcomes teach without rewriting the past

Keep the original Verdict. Record what actually happened. Review the assumptions that held and the ones that failed. Do not infer that the Decision caused the result.

Historian looks at prior Decisions and Outcomes. Judge still scores the current record. Challenge the Verdict can reopen a hinge that later evidence falsified.

Where this sits in the Argumont model

Enterprise Decision Infrastructure is what Argumont is. Secure Full-Cycle Decision Intelligence is how a Decision is handled. The Decision System of Record is what the organization accumulates. Institutional memory is that accumulation used on the next Decision.

Private Decisions stay private

Private Decisions stay private. Memory is not a generic knowledge base detached from provenance.

Champion and Challenger test the case, Inspector checks the evidence, and Judge records the Verdict for the Decision Owner.

Example memory use

A later architecture Decision reopens last year’s stay-versus-split record. The original Verdict favored split. The Human Decision stayed because hiring slipped. The Outcome showed the constraint that created. The new team inherits that history instead of another diagram.
